Guess what!!! Tomorrow’s the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who!! You guys have no idea how excited I am! I’ve been bored since the last season ended 😀 And I get to see my lovely 10th Doctor again 😉 So in honor of this special day today’s Friday Faves are Doctor Who themed 🙂 (Maybe I’ll convert some of you 😉 right?! )
Honesty either the hoodie, the socks, or the iphone 4 case would make me extremely happy 😉 (hint, hint)
Aren’t they cute 🙂 They’re Dalek inspired 😀 My mom knitted me a similar pair (she made the pattern herself). Click the link if you want your own pattern to make them 🙂
Disclaimer: There are some spoilers in the following video, so if you haven’t finished watching the 10th Doctor I suggest not watching the video 🙂
Honestly the feels!! 😦 (He’s my Doctor if you’re wondering)
Well that’s all for today 🙂
Now don’t forget about my kickstarter 🙂 There’s only 5 days left!
So it seems that I totally forgot about Friday Faves last week……oops 😛 I promise I have a good excuse! A couple of my friends were having a joint costume birthday party last Friday so I was busy freaking out about what to wear 😀 I was a pirate (a very attractive pirate if I do say so myself ;)) Anyway either Saturday or Sunday I’ll show you guys what I gave them as birthday presents. I promise you guys will like them so check back 🙂
The past week has been full to the brim with stuff. Everything from essays, to tests, to ice skating, and just random stuff going on. I’ve barely had a moment to think 😛 Why does everything pile up at the same time? Anyway this weeks Faves are cowl themed! I’ve developed a bit of an obsession cowl scarves 🙂 I’m actually knitting one for myself (I’ll obviously show you guys when I’m done ;)) So here are some of my favorites,
This link has patterns for two different cowls. The one above and the one below 🙂 Both are pretty (and I may need to make both :))
This ones also a link to a pattern 😉
Well here you go 🙂 Now don’t forget that my kickstarter project is still going. Only 13 more days!! I need your help to fill my goal! 😀
Visit me on Facebook here 🙂 And my Kickstarter here 🙂
Yay! It’s Friday! XD Now what do I have for you guys today :3
Cool, huh? Some of you may remember something similar from an early post of mine. That was my first attempt at make one of these. They’re called Temari. I think they’re from Japan, and possibly China. Wherever they’re from they’re gorgeous 🙂 They started out as children’s toys and evolved into works of art. So today I’m going to show you a few more amazing, labor intensive examples. (The image above has a tutorial on the page, it’s in Russian but has photos :))
I may have to try to make this one… 🙂 This Temari maker also has other gorgeously complicated patterns
There are many gorgeous examples around. I think they’ve gotten even more popular and prevalent since I first found them last year. If you are interested in making your own, check your local library for books about Temari. I know my local library has a few. These books have great instructions and patterns without making you search all over for them…trust me on this
Have a good weekend! And don’t forget to check out my Kickstarter! (link) I need your help!! 😀
Its been a really long week…but it’s Friday!! 😀
Today I’m featuring things that I wouldn’t mind owning 🙂
First up and my favorite item of all is….
It’s an Octo-Labra 😀 Awesome huh? 🙂 Sadly, while I would love to own this gorgeous candle stand…it costs $785. If you can afford it and want to buy it you can find it at sourcecollection.com 🙂
Next we have an amazing umbrella 🙂
Isn’t it cool! And you don’t have to worry about rolling it up neatly! 😀 Unfortunately I can only find it on Japanese websites and don’t know how to get my hands on one in the US 😛 The link I found to it is www.ubergizmo.com
The last thing on the list is a cute tea infuser:
Isn’t it perfect for a cold winter day 🙂 It’s cold a ManaTEA infuser 🙂 cute, huh? 😀 It’s reasonably priced too…maybe I’ll get my mom one…Christmas is coming after all 🙂 You can find it on amazon.com.
Well that’s all for today. Check back soon. I have a project I’ve been working on that I want to show you all 🙂
It’s time for….(drum roll)….Fridaaaay Faavves! 😀
This weeks been pretty busy, homework sucks 😛 So lets see what I came across recently (or in reality came across a while ago and love it ;))
I came across this trailer not too long ago. I really want to see this when it comes out 😀 (the video is in French by the way, but you don’t really need to understand it to see why I like it :))
It’s a movie that’s based on a French book called The Boy with the Cuckoo Clock Heart. The guy who wrote it is in a band called Dionysos and he has an album out that has music based on this book. I really like this song (it’s actually how I heard about the book):
I finally got my hands on the translated copy of the book (after searching for at least a year…it took a while for my local library to get it :/). I’ll let you guys know how I like it, but I heard it was really good 🙂 But anyway the movie looks like it’s going to be adorable. And yes the trailer’s in French, but I don’t know what language the film will be in. Either way I’ll watch it 🙂 Maybe I should brush up on my french….;)
The story is basically about a boy who has to have a clockwork heart because his was frozen solid when he was born. As he is growing up he has to follow certain rules, like don’t get too emotional, to protect his heart. But of course, he falls in love. It seems like it’s going to be a sweetly sad story. Hopefully I can find some time to read it decently.
That seems like that’s going to be it for the day. I just have to survive one more week of school (and midterms) and then I get a week off for fall break 😀
Is there anything specific you guys want to see from me in my upcoming posts?
